About Bed Size Chart

Bed Size Chart is an independent reference for bed and mattress sizes in the US, the UK and France. It is made and maintained by Rai Ansar, and it is not affiliated with any mattress, bed or bedding brand or retailer.

Who makes it

Rai Ansar is an independent developer and publisher based in Pakistan who builds small reference sites and tools. He is not a sleep expert and does not sell mattresses or bedding. Corrections sent to hello@bedsizechart.com are checked against the source and the page is updated when the source supports the change.

Why this site exists

Beds are sold by size name, but the same name means different measurements in different places. A US Queen, a UK "queen-size" and a French "queen size" are three different beds. Even within the US, two widely used references publish different widths for a Twin. Many size charts give a single number without saying where it comes from; this site shows who publishes each figure, for which market, and when it was last checked.

How the data is sourced

• Every size and product figure lives in one versioned dataset. Each row records the source page, the market it is written for, the kind of source (retailer chart, editorial guide, consumer guide, manufacturer product page) and the date the figure was last checked against that page.
• The dataset currently cites 33 source pages. They were last re-read on 2026-09-24.
• When two sources disagree, both figures are kept and labelled. Nothing is averaged into a number no source publishes.
• The site never assumes a size name means the same thing in another market; sizes are compared only by measurement.
• If a manufacturer does not publish a figure (for example, a frame's internal clearance), the site says it is unknown instead of estimating it.
• Every table, diagram and comparison on the site is generated from that dataset, so a correction to one figure updates every page that uses it.
• Nothing here is a lab test. We have not measured any mattresses ourselves; the site reports what the cited sources publish.

How AI is used

Page text is drafted with AI assistance (Anthropic's Claude) from the cited sources. The numbers are not written by the AI: they come from the dataset, and each dataset figure was read from its source page on the date shown. The diagrams are drawn by code from the same records, not generated as images. Automated tests check unit conversions and comparisons, and confirm that every figure carries a source. Before a page is published, its figures and claims are checked against the sources listed on that page.

How the site is paid for

The site currently earns nothing: there are no ads and no affiliate links. Some pages have a clearly labelled "Product references" box that links to makers' own pages when they publish a relevant figure, such as a fitted sheet's maximum mattress depth. Those links are unpaid. If the site later joins an affiliate programme, the box will say so on every page where it applies.
