Queen vs Full bed: the exact size difference
A Queen mattress is 60 × 80 in and a Full is 54 × 75 in, so a Queen is 6 inches wider and 5 inches longer, with 750 square inches (18.5%) more surface area. Shared by two people, a Full gives each sleeper 27 inches of width and a Queen 30 inches. In the US, a Full is also called a Double.

One source gives the Full a different length
Sleep Foundation's twin size guide lists the Full at 54 × 74 in, while its own double-bed guide and Target both give 54 × 75 in. On the 74-inch figure, a Queen is 6 inches longer, not 5. The name alone does not guarantee a measurement, so check the exact mattress you are buying.

How much bigger is a Queen than a Full?
It is 6 inches (15.2 cm) wider and 5 inches (12.7 cm) longer. The surface area goes from 4,050 to 4,800 square inches, 18.5% more.
Is a Full bed big enough for two people?
Split down the middle, a Full gives each person 27 inches, which is narrower than a single Twin mattress (38 or 39 inches wide, depending on the source). A Queen gives each person 30 inches. Whether that is enough depends on the sleepers; a chart can only give you the measurements.
Is a Full as big as a Queen?
No. A Full is smaller in both directions: 6 inches narrower and 5 inches shorter.
Is a Queen worth it over a Full?
A Queen needs 6 more inches of wall width and 5 more inches of floor length than a Full, plus whatever the frame adds (an IKEA MALM Queen frame takes up 66⅛ × 83⅛ in). In return, each of two sleepers gets 3 more inches of width, and the bed is 5 inches longer: a 75-inch Full is exactly 6 feet 3 inches long, while a Queen is 6 feet 8 inches long. Full, Double and the UK Double
In the US, Full and Double are the same size: Sleep Foundation writes "full/double" for 54 × 75 in. A UK Double is designed as 4ft 6in × 6ft 3in, the same 54 × 75 in, but is labelled 135 × 190 cm (53.1 × 74.8 in) in metric, so check the exact figures on any bedding labelled "double" and which market it was made for.
